The leather I used for the journal’s cover is a beautiful black with a subtle distressed texture and coarse surface. The other side of the leather is cream, left uncovered. I painted with with leather special pigments, with a design inspired by ammunition crates.
A white leather ribbon wraps around the journal to close it. Each page has been hand torn, folded and sewn into the journal. It has 168 pages (counting both sides)
It’s bound with the longstitch technique using strong thread. It measures 5.5 x 7.5 inches (13.5 x 19cm), measured on the cover (the book block is a bit smaller).
