Description
This simple and aged book is made of a natural piece of leather that was antiqued with natural dyes and patina to look worn and old. Now this beautiful orange brown leather gained character and the look of a book with history. The design of the book is deliberate minimal, to allow the beauty of this antiqued leather to appear unaltered.
The book measures 10.2 x 7.3 inches (26 x 18.5 cm). It is filled with artist quality paper (Fabriano) and has 104 pages (208 sides). The paper has 200 gsm, is warm white, acid free, hand torn and works for any media, including ink and watercolor. The edges of the bookblock were toned in light brown so they fit better the overall old look of this book.
The endpapers are made of paper that resembles parchment in texture. The headbands were hand-sewn from black and brown cotton thread.
This book is unique in its charming simplicity. I created it as an art object, I hope you will love it once you’ll meet it.
